And it seems those who haven't taken a liking to the relatively new release are looking elsewhere for their Battlefield fix.

Battlefield 2042's lack of a campaign only made matters worse, along with a fair few changes to the formula that series faithful find most unfavorable. The futuristic military shooter was plagued by myriad bugs at launch, with framerate issues, graphical hitches, and matchmaking woes affecting players across PC and console iterations. After several months of anticipation, developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts deployed Battlefield 2042 in November 2021 to mixed reviews and generally poor fan reception.
